Wham bam spam
Hello everyone. I'm a long time player of OSRS. Like many, I played as a teenager, leaving shortly after the move to RS3 and only returning a couple of years ago, when I heard about OSRS making a comeback. I love this game. I am deadly serious when I say that clicking on the same thing for 3 hours at a time brings me a huge amount of satisfaction. Many an adventure I have had in Gielinor and hope to begin an Ironman once I max this account. But of course, there has to be a reason to post on Reddit. To suggest otherwise would be insane. In recent months, the Grand Exchange has changed. Twisted. Morphed, into the very thing that myself and doubtless, many others, log in to Runescape to escape. What is that, you ask? It's not Runecraft; don't be silly. It's chat spam. Every other line of text you see in chat whilst stood at the Grand Exchange or similiar hotspot is a bot spamming something. Be it clan chat advertisements, anti-lure bulletins, gambling bots, level 40s with max cash who pay big for all items, you name it, there's a robot with a megaphone screaming it in your ear while you clean your dirty herbs. Those dirty, dirty herbs. I hear many things about the issue. The main one of them being that it would be commercially unviable for Jagex to implement anti-bot measures. Now, before we go completely off the deep end and start training Runecraft, there is something to be said for clan chat advertisements. I can almost see the appeal for new players to be able to find clans. Having said that, there are so many spambots in the game now that it is becoming difficult to even speak to other players through chat. I believe that I speak for many when I say that enough is enough. I am by no means a tech wizard. But I do have at least an above-average experience with coding. Here's what I propose:
Allocate more server resources to a new chat moderation system. Perhaps one or two decent size servers. Some people can definitely tell you which.
Use said resources to implement a rule whereby player messages are stored in temporary memory; let's say, for up to 30 seconds to a minute.
Implement code that checks new player messages against the temporarily stored messages and mute any that are say, repeated more than 3 or 4 times in the above timeframe.
Use in-game chat messages to remind players that trigger the new spam filter of rules against spamming. Repeated breaches could result in account muting, bans, all the tough stuff.
You can't tell me that the OSRS system cannot ever support something like this. If it is capable of storing messages for long enough to facilitate in-game communication, then it is capable of something like what I have suggested. Never mind new content creation. There is a huge amount of content in the game already. There needs to be something done about this and soon. If I have missed some kind of blog-post about an update like this, then you can suck it up and read my post anyway because we have to deal with this every time we log in. And we pay for the privilege. I heard somewhere that for every customer that complains about a service, there are 10 more who simply stop using that service and instead give negative reviews of it to their friends. I can't even complain about this to Jagex in person. I have to post it on here and hope. I mean come on. Do you want your company to stay afloat? The game is worth tens of millions of dollars. Get some more servers and stop the spambots so we can all get back to enjoying the game. Please.
PSA Use the Runelite Chat Filter to filter out all of the annoying spam bots you encounter in the game.
As many of you are aware, there are thousands of bots that stand around spamming everything from scams, to lures, to annoying advertisements. I've found that many people do not realize that Runelite has a decent filter built into the client that is able to handle many of these spammers. First enable the chat filter in Runelite Then open up the filter list and set the filter type to 'Remove Message'. Finally in the Filtered Regex box add in phrases that you wish to be filtered.. This box accepts Regex or Regular Expressions which when set up properly can filter out significant amounts of spam. If you do not know how to write Regex, you can also just type in phrases that you commonly see to filter them out. Hopefully this can help reduce spam for everyone at the GE a bit. Here is my current list of filters (I based it off leddence's post last year about this and have been adding phrases I see because I haven't written Regex in years). Dear Mod Warden, Want To Fix RuneScape (MTX, playerbase, etc)? - Here's How.
Hi, I write to you today appealing to you to save RuneScape, and offering what I believe to be reasonable suggestions to do this. Before giving my ideas I will give some honest background into who I am as a player, as it may help you in understanding where my ideas stem from. I have played RS for 5919 days, that is over 16 years. I have played since RSC, was a very very active PKer and member of the #1 PvP clan on RS2 and played into RS3. Admittedly, as I have grown older and my free time less and less, I stopped playing my 10+ hours a day (probably around 2007) but have remained around the community and have frequently paid for membership despite not playing often (I currently have two accounts with premier). I still love the game and after ‘quitting’ I remained active on my clan’s forums, then moved on to play a lot of private servers, came back ‘full time’ when botting was rampant (well, I only had to click twice a day lol), came back again when OS was released, got really into RS3 for a while after watching some PvM videos, and now I’m more of a redditor than a player, often defending MTX in the midst of irrational ideas that are very entitled and lack any business sense from anti MTX players. Now onto the ideas. Firstly, I personally accept that MTX is a part of modern day gaming. In fact, I’m pretty happy it is, as I just don’t have the time I once had to sit and click a tree repeatedly to gain experience in order to be able to do a quest that unlocks another quest that gives me access to an area that I want a reward from. I, therefore, will not be offering ‘remove MTX’ suggestions, but rather ideas that you can use to remedy the roots that are causing MTX complaints. I see these as:
The nature of MTX (predatory, encouraging gambling, ‘in your face’)
The ‘power creep’ in MTX
The impacts on the competitive nature of the game
The odd business model (P2P PLUS MTX and now you’ve discussed adding RunePass)
The Nature of MTX
Anti MTX players do not want popups advertising MTX. Offer them the option to turn it off. I understand that you want to be able to upsell, but certain players were never going to buy any way. Yes there will be players included here that potentially could have been convinced by some marketing that you’re now going to cut off a channel too, but I personally believe it’s worth it to get rid of the negativity on Reddit, which is a frequent place for new players to look when they start a game and often a top hit for google searches. I think you are underplaying the negative impact that this toxic echo chamber of Reddit is having on new player engagement.
You have mentioned previously removing the gambling aspect of TH and directly selling XP – do it. Remove TH and SGS, move everything to the oddments store. The amount of people who genuinely care about the gambling issue is very small, but considering the impact of gambling addictions, debt, etc., saving a single person from walking down that road is worth it.
Young children should not have access to uncapped MTX. Jagex should require parental consentfor a minor to create an account (perhaps they do already, I’ve not been a minor for a long time so I don’t know the procedure) via the parents email address. The parents should then have access to a portal that gives them the options to turn off, or cap, mtx,. They should be able to block their specific cards from being used to purchase things to prevent their children from taking it from their bag. They should also be able to control the chat filter option on their children's account, and other such things. As a parent, I can tell you that building a relationship with the parents will go a long way in letting their children play your game. There is a lot of rubbish out there and parents are growing increasingly protective. This also gives you an avenue to advertise mtx/membership to the parents around Christmas, the child’s bday etc. as a gift they can buy their children. Engage the parents, not the vulnerable minors.
Power Creep in MTX As with all things, things must get better over time for people to stay engaged. That is understandable. But to be very clear, T80 armour on TH is not acceptable.
Create a clear, player feedback driven, list of what will, and will not be allowed in the new oddments store. IMO this will probably land at: lamps, stars, silverhawk feathers, springs, auras, portables, pulse cores, elite skilling outfits, cosmetics. There may be a few things I’ve missed.
Do not think that ‘it’s not BIS’ is an excuse to put the thing just below BIS. T90 is not commonly used lol.
People have access to bonds if they want to buy t80 armours from MTX. Bonds add value to the general game, TH does not.
The Impacts of The Competitive Nature IMO highscores are meaningless already. According to people I’ve said this too, that feeling is not global.
Find a way for non-MTXers to be able to brag about their MTX-less achievements. Whether that is by detailing xp from lamps vs xp organically gained, or a star next to their name on the highscores if there’s no MTX, perhaps an organic HS and an overall HS, I don’t know. But the point is that people don’t want to be ‘outdone’ in the game by people richer than them in real life. For players like myself who want to save time, I don’t care if people see that I MTX’d my divination so this will not impact your mtx sales figures, but it will please those who are anti-MTX and feel their achievements are being devalued by the sale of XP.
The ODD Business Model When I think of the MTX heavy games (clash of clans, game of war, fifa for example), I note that they aren’t subscription based games, they are freemium. Notably Fifa has an upfront cost, but the Fifa disk gives you much more than FUT (it’s MTX driven mode). Runescape is freemium, plus membership fee to have access to anything meaningful, plus you’re now going to add RunePass / a premium option? No way lol. Here’s my biggest and boldest idea: remove membership fees and become a freemium game. Like I said – I pay premier on two accounts and over the course of the year I probably average out at about 6minutes a day – this isn’t an idea stemming from me being too cheap to pay for membership.
F2P is an awful advertising platform for RS in 2019. Membership is a minimum requirement to play this game imo. The F2P quest base is okay, but the skilling, areas, etc. is so limited, it no longer has the pull of enticing people to P2P that it once had. Our member base has dropped dramatically, and we need to remedy this.
Bring back RunePass as some kind of premium option
Premier club = 12 months of RunePass instead of 12 months of membership.
RunePass, along with it’s month worth of challenges, should unlock (until the end of the month): XP multipliers, cosmetics, increased rates on things like herb patch yields, kingdom yields, rate of favour increases in GWD2, Menaphos, etc. For more ideas, look at Clash of Clan’s Gold Pass. Give players a reason to play each month and link the challenges to things that aren’t boring grinds. Add in a large payout (perhaps in oddments?) at the end of each pass/season to give players a reason to renew each month.
This opens the door for players who have left to return, being able to enjoy all of the content, without having to commit to membership first. It's a lot easier to convince a returner to stay after they see how great Araxor is, than it is by them seeing Al Kharid no longer charges 10gp to enter.
Realistically, the new boosted XP rate becomes the normal XP rate and eventually everyone will opt for RunePass – revenues won’t be affected. But you’ve made the game better for new players and easier for old players to return. People are also much more likely to opt for Ironmen, area-locked ironmen, etc. if they can do it for free. As I said above, eventually they’ll pay anyway.
The majority of these updates sound like they reduce or limit revenue, and perhaps in the short term they may, but I think the majority of them will have a net zero impact over the long term and I think the business model idea will lead to far higher revenues with increased player base. To top it off, I want to add an observation I’ve made a few times on Reddit that I think is massively overlooked and can radically change the membership / RunePass revenue for Jagex if corrected: The Games META Let’s establish some facts:
OSRS does not have MTX (outside of bonds), RS3 does.
OSRS has a larger player base than RS3, and therefore more revenue from membership fees
OSRS has PvP and PvM, RS3 has PvM (yes, I’m aware that 14 people still PK and another 50 join in at warbands time, that’s insignificant in the grand scheme of things lol).
As someone who has played RS for a LONG time, I’m aware that the game was established as a PvP game where you could kill people anywhere. I remember when you could duel anywhere and if someone came to your mining spot you would fight for the right to stay there. I remember when pirate hut (RSC) and axe hut (RS3) in the wilderness were the best combat xp rates in the game. I remember when sharks and super sets were BIS and realistcally had no use in the game other than being a food for PKing (and perhaps KBD?). I say all these things to say, RS was massively built around PvP in its early days, and flourished because of PvP in RS2 days. RS3 has lost that element of the game, and it lost something as an accidental byproduct: the need to have multiple accounts. The META in RS3 is simply to max. There’s nothing else. Make a main – max it. Start again with an iron – max it. A single OS player may have: a main, an ironman, a 1 def pure, a zerker pure, a range tank, a 60 attack piety pure, an obby mauler, a gmaul rusher, a mage rusher. That’s 9 accounts for one person. And for some youtubers, they have all of these accounts and members on all of them! RS3 has such a heavy reliance on MTX because it’s the only thing they can upsell to the players they have. OSRS upsell another membership by releasing a new PKing META. The point that I’m making? bring back multi level METAs. My personal preference to do this would be to change the combat system in the wilderness to once again be conducive to PKing (perhaps revolution mode automatically turns on as you enter, bring back special attacks with KO potential, etc). Reinvent the wilderness as a high risk (e.g a coin drop on death regardless of what you’re wearing), high reward place to train things to encourage PKers and non PKers alike to take that plunge. Close the wilderness in the majority of worlds, leaving only certain ones open to push all the wildy players into one place. Reintroduce PvP worlds (can be attacked anywhere) with an XP boost for using them. I appreciate that that is probably not the most popular suggestion, so perhaps there are other ways such as to create activities that have great rewards but are significantly harder at higher levels (making it better to do at lower levels). The point is, give people a reason to have multiple accounts, rather than aimlessly going for max every time. OSRS has thousands of videos on YouTube just on the topic of META combat builds. Some other throw away points that have nothing to do with MTX but go along with the general concept of rebuilding the playerbase:
Sort out the confusion in the combat triangle. Why does melee have attack and strength whilst the other two just have one skill that covers both? Strength does virtually nothing now other than unlock new abilities. I appreciate that it’s always been that way, but RS3 has attempted to make a genuinely balanced combat triangle (on OSRS no one mages bosses for example). Merge the two skills, make it clean, make it balanced, make it make sense.
Fix the new player experience. Most open world MMOs have areas that you work your way through in a practical order, with monsters growing in strength etc. You can do this by creating a ‘main’ quest line that moves you throughout the world, uncovering new places and introducing you to new things as you level (e.g bossing, the various skills, the GE, etc). Right now the open world is too open world at early game level. Since we're moving to freemium, you have a lot more space to run this questline through. We need to be attractive to new players once again, both in getting them in and keeping them.
Fix the settings menu. It’s too much.
Properly reintroduce the concept of AFK. For some reason RS3 now define AFK as 'not click intensive'... AFK used to mean away from keyboard lol. On OSRS you can AFK at sandcrabs, NMZ or splashing for between 10 and 20 minutes at a time. Genuinely AFK. This is massively popular with the introduction of mobile because it means those with desk jobs can actually train up accounts (remember those new ones you're going to give us METAs/motivations to make?). Considering RS3 has an older playerbase, this is urgently needed. The model is already set out with mining - good XP for AFK, great XP to pay extra attention. Roll it out for all skills. And note, AFK does not mean 'requires aggression potions' or some other high level content lol. It needs to be something you can do from the origin of an account through to level 99/120/whatever.
Content needs to be better. The player base feels entitled to an update a week. I remember back when that wasn't the case, but the players now feel that's the speed they should expect. If you cannot meet this schedule, which IMO would not be considered unreasonable bearing in mind how much more detail goes into an update now, communicate that with the players and change the expectation. If properly communicated as the new norm, and quality was high (please start testing things lol), I don't see why the player base would be angry at a proper monthly update. Still 4 weeks worth of content, but in one hit, properly QA tested, properly adding value to the game. A lot of the outrage right now is because developer time is clearly disproportionately between MTX and actual content.
I was searching through videos on YouTube about a week or two ago and came across a video about some sort of p-mod conspiracy (or something to that effect). I don’t quite remember what the title was exactly or who posted it (maybe Colonello or Dicerz or someone) but I saved it to my watch later playlist in YouTube and it’s been deleted within the last few days. Does anyone know what video I’m talking about or has seen it and can explain what it was about? I never got a chance to watch it and really want to know what it said. It also seems kinda fishy that it, a conspiracy type video, got deleted shortly after being posted. Update: I just watched the new vid SirPugger uploaded and it explains everything (link below). Quick shoutout to the osrs reddit fam for helping with the detective work! I appreciate you guys so hard! https://youtu.be/61DsLdbMSTg P.s. we need to take down the gambling bots/p-mods for fucking with our boi pugger and getting his vid removed.
State of the Game 2nd Edition - TH Umbral Crystals - False Advertising - Solutions to Explore
Hi there Reddit, welcome to an opinion piece I like to put together from time to time called "State Of The Game" This edition initially focuses around an issue my brother encountered with the recent TH promo, but also explores issues many others have had with the same and MTX in general. I also aim to propose a few potential solutions, some radical, some more reserved, towards the end. All feedback is welcome, but without further ado, let's jump into it First, let me describe the Umbral problem: After going through the motions of earning several dozen keys through both in-game and survey means (the oft-malfunctioning sale of your personal info and views to advertising moguls for fractions of its market value without so much as an age-gate), he finally managed to unlock an umbral crystal on his second set from this promo. His reward? 10 keys, which given he had completed the second set, promptly put him into the third set where there were only white and yellow stars. Naturally, he was displeased, and tells me he won't be engaging with TH any more - gambling for more chances to gamble just isn't rewarding when the selling point is "super rare" rewards. Whilst we can all agree there must be some less valuable rares available otherwise what is the point of different rewards at all, this highlights a certain dishonesty present in the marketing of this event. Combining this with various reports of low value prizes and prizes listed as both P2P+F2P not being claimable by F2Pers in this promo, alongside the history of treasure hunter as a whole being something of a sham to capitalize on people who can't play the game very much but also RWT/"true" AFK/Bot training being bannable offences, I think it's well past time Jagex faces up to what is often seen as straying into false advertising and wander dangerously close to racketeering.
10 keys = ~2,92€ = ~1/2 bond = ~10m at the time of writing: In what universe, given RuneScape 3's current economy, is this a super rare reward? At even mid levels (as determined by player opinion and jagex' own streams) 3m per hour played is a low income. Considering his stats and the time he put into completing this promo that far, he'd have been better off snaffling sharks at the QBD. Considering he still pays for membership (at the time of writing), this has cost him time/enjoyment yet again, and now as a paying customer he's ended up refusing to use this service (from which only Jagex and its affiliated advertisers have effectively profited) with a large degree of dissatisfaction because it seems to demand more input overall than it's ever going to pay out. Is it just terrible RNG? Are only paid keys worthy of Jagex's interest? Has "balancing" forced Jagex to nerf rewards, but the Board of Directors insist they keep stoking the fire in every gambler's belly?
Cash rewards being unclaimable by free players: Some people simply can't afford membership. Maybe they're too young, maybe their family lives on a shoestring, whatever. It's not Jagex' business to cater to people who don't pay them money directly, sure, but to require a paid subscription to access content described and advertised as available for free is dishonest at best, particularly in situations where advertising is being sold and/or surveys are completed. Not to mention, the cash rewards can start some free players down the membership-for-bonds path early!
Consistent resetting of the "frozen" categories: This is one that has affected me on numerous occasions, and before any of you tell me to "let it go", the whole point of the Hearts of Inadequate Cosmetic Extermination currency is to block yourself getting recycled items thrown at you in place of something useful. A purple gem giving me a cosmetic that doesn't even pass the quality bar of my existing premium cosmetics instead of an excuse to sell/break the non-lucky equivalents I have kicking about in my bank feels like a kick in the RNGenitalia, expecially because I just can't bear to see that Chaotic Maul I spent days grinding for go without a shiny replacement, despite having obtained t90s years ago. The Hearts of Inconsistent Crap Expunging are also part and parcel of the product being sold for real currency. Stop doing this Jagex, when I want cosmetics I'll pop in to see Solomon and exchange fragments of my soul - I mean, Loyalty Points or RuneCoins - for them.
Gambling/TH in general: There are pretty stringent regulations on gambling sites, from bingo to slots to poker. I'm not much of a cash gambler myself - the odds are rarely stacked in the favour of a player - but I can still appreciate the draw of gambling and have known more than a few people that found themselves rinsed into debt by flashy, well-marketed "in it to win it" gambling systems. Hell, the hours upon weeks upon years we all pour into this game, hoping for that one drop/cape (I'm looking at you, SoS) to "make it all worth it" are basically a gamble for naught but the sense of achievement for the low, low price of 11$ per month. Whilst I'd counsel any and everyone to be wary of spending money you don't have on things you don't need to impress people you don't know, the main thing these methods of gambling have is player interaction, thus the potential for sport or enjoyment. Treasure Hunter does not - it is simply, plug in cash, receive random assortment of pixels. The problems with this arise when the random assortment of pixels is made either extremely appealing to the point of perceived competitive necessity (I.E "efficient" exp rates from outfits, bxp, etc) within the greater game, and/or they replace actual content development (e.g portables/proteans/formerly some outfits), and/or utterly mischaracterize the content being sold. One could even argue, given the lack of mundane wealth (treasure) and of investment or input (huntng), the entire system is being mis-sold.
Bonds and currency conversion: This is a complicated one, and I don't pretend to understand it in its entirety. Currently, bonds are a fixed-period membership (and RC) item, but have a huge variation in their GP values over time and between games. This means that at some times, smaller numbers of people can afford to sustain membership via in game wealth, and that depending on what promos are running/events etc, OSRS GP can be worth many, many times more than what RS3 GP is worth, despite no change to drop tables or new content. This encourages difficult-to-track-and-moderate trust trading between games and allows for small groups of wealthy players to generate extraordinary amounts of wealth simply for having already accrued a decent pile of money on one or both games. Having done a bit of this myself, I can report that for simply having my ass out there, I can play the game and accrue up to tens of dollars worth of RSGP (calculated by bond prices) an hour, or have the "value" of my trading tanked by an impromptu promo. This isn't good for the games in terms of community or economy, as it centralizes vast piles of GP, distorting statistics when it comes to wealth, upkeep, cost, profitability etc. - the various economic factors Jagex has to consider when introducing and balancing bosses, skills and areas old and new, and pushes people away from RS3 towards the less financially "exploitable" OSRS. I'm not a leading economist, but without some regulation on TH promos and influx of new RS3ers, eventually the currency conversion rate from RS3 to OSRS is going to run away to the point where telos isn't going to be comparable to mid-level OSRS slayer, defeating the bonds-for-membership symbiosis many players and whales engage in and planting the seeds of the return of illicit gold farming companies running bots in places like Turoths.
So, what do I propose? Better TH rewards? Ramp up the Umbral chests? MOAR PROMOS + PHR33 ST00F PL0X!?? REMOVE MTX JAGEX!?!1?!?!one!?! Nuke bonds!?
Nuke the TH: Move all cosmetics to Solomon's store, and have a dedicated (!!small!!) team work on interesting and beautiful imaginings and reimaginings of RuneScape armour, art, pets and services. People do and will pay for these! League of Legends has a phenomenal cosmetic, override and service system that doesn't favour wielders of the Amex Godsword too extensively over those with the time to spare on the game, and have incredibly good reconceptualizations of characters, including phenomenal fan submissions. They took an underwater, monstrous sea titan and made him into an astronaut - somehow it works! Look at that business model and find game-killing flaws in it - I'll wait.
Much greater focus on in-game XP modifiers: I'll spend time killing the Mimic or the Giant Mole or playing Castle Wars if it means I can net a bit of bonus xp in a skill I hate training (instead of waiting on Jagex to fix up decade old skills like Construction) in the couple hours a day I can get to play, but only if Todd over there isn't just going mash keys (literally) till he gets the exact same bonus xp as me and THEN play 6 hours more, because Todd lives in upmarket L.A and I'm from the backwoods of Fumblebutt in Europe somewhere. We've already established the economic disconnect for certain free players - members shouldn't be subjected to further economic division. The premium game under the current dynamic isn't split into wealthy casuals and pooreunwilling no-lifers, it's split into wealthy whales and everybody else - point being, time played simply isn't as rewarding long term as the size of your wallet, leaving many old and loyal customers dissatisfied to say the very least. By all means, make something like Reaper or Daily Tasks with special conditions (a la morvran special task) that require either skill, expensive gear (milk those bonds) or both for the bonus xp, that's fair enough. It'll make it all the better when Jagex then overhaul skills like the recent M&S rework with much better XP curves, and it'll also leave them a space for some rewards when they fuck up loot with stone spirits. Jagex could even sell more of these tasks with RuneCoins in lieu of the vis wax. I know many people on my friends list just dying for something not Bossing and Slayer to do, but don't want to feel like they're wasting efficiency for the sake of fun.
Rubber Bonds: Look into making either the real world price or membership duration/RC exchange flexible to certain degrees versus in-game cash, and reduce or remove TH interplay entirely from them - provided there are no rewards exclusive to TH. Players shouldn't be forced to play a whole other game or grind 8 hours for 4 days of fun (assuming casual play) just because Jagex are failing to meet their overlords' profit targets this quarter - it's inspiring extremely lazy updates and development management in a company that relies entirely on its playerbase for advertisement and revenue. Even Mining and Smithing, great update overall that it was, was tainted by this, being over a year late.
Clear, honest advertising: If Jagex really must sell bonus exp, let it be consistent, un-intrusive, clearly advertised, and relatively expensive, rather than totally random. Let bonus xp stars be degrade to dust worn items that last for a certain amount of time, or in a certain skill, or a certain amount of exp, or all of the above, rather than green numbers on a tooltip. Hell, make it all pulse cores, so everybody around benefits in some small way from one person's microtransaction, rather than stacking up stars for months before blowing the hiscores out of whack with 3m xp/hr - look how popular w84 CA and w70 AW are. Limit it per month perhaps, or per age of account, whatever, but make MTX something that improves the community rather than draining the soul out of it. If Jagex keep selling the snake oil to "solve" problems they fabricate/won't fix, the new crowd will die off same as the old guard did, in favour of more transparent companies with more ethical business practices.
This brings me to the end of another long State of the Game post. Assuming anybody reads this, I might have another one for you in a couple of updates' time. SwiftSamael out!
IVP and other Investment Firms are Holding Back OSRS
Note: I’ve edited this down to as short as possible while still making my message clear. I feel that this is a very important discussion so I hope you stick with me.
This won’t make any sense unless you are aware of who Insight Venture Partners (and other investment firms) are and what they do. Paul and Andrew Gower (the creators of Runescape) stepped down from the board of directors as IVP grew to a 55% share in Jagex, and other investment firms Raine Group and Spectrum Equity Investors replaced the Gower brother’s seats. This was a huge change in the management of Runescape, which showed in the direction Runescape went shortly thereafter with the introduction of micro transactions, EOC, RS3 and so on. There is a general consensus among the OSRS community that the quality of updates and management of our game is extremely poor. Many people flame and blame the OSRS development team for this. I think that the real answer is that upper management is intentionally holding back OSRS. OSRS generates a huge amount of income, our player count rivals and occasionally even surpasses the main game of RS3. Yet if you look into the miniscule amount of resources that OSRS is given, the numbers simply don’t add up. I’ve come to two conclusions from this: ONE Upper management is milking OSRS for what we’re worth by inputting as few resources as possible OR TWO Upper management is terrified that OSRS will strongly surpass RS3 in player count. This would make it seem that all of their decisions up to that point have been in error, which means they are terrible management. They don't want to be out of a job. A 7 year old legacy build of the game becoming more popular than the newest version would call into question all of their management decisions. Whether Jagex’s incompetent management are intentionally gimping OSRS (by this I mean completely understaffing us, it would be a ridiculous theory that they are giving us poor quality updates on purpose. Our poor quality updates are because of the rushed and small development team) or just being cheap, our game suffers tremendously. From here I’m going to breakdown many of the issues that I and many other players have had with OSRS. This will be a long list but its necessary to support my above claims. I might have a unique perspective on some issues so maybe read the ones you feel strongly about. A) We are severely understaffed. The Dev team has become very creative in ways of saying no during the Q&A sessions. “No, that isn’t possible now but maybe in the future.” “If you want us to work on that then we would have to drop whatever we’re working on at the moment” “Ask us again in the future”. These answers would be for possibly good content ideas but due to how backed up they are, they can’t think about making it. Obviously its not possible to say yes to everything but barely anything bigger than a quality of life update is ever considered. Ian Gower is currently our only engine developer. Without him, there wouldn’t be new features such as resizable, coinshare etc. From my understanding he is backed up months, during the Q&A they have even said that he is hard at work even during his personal time. For a long while we didn’t have any graphical artists. We had to make due with reskins such as Vetion, which is a skeleton from Legends Quest blown up 4x the size and recolored a putrid orange during the 2nd phase. We don’t have any web developers. A month ago we were shown a makeover of the OSRS website which were done by 2 people working in their free time. “In their free time” keeps on repeating too often, it’s the clearest sign of overworked/understaffed there is. Some of the larger updates such as Achievement Diaries take months to develop, and in this case diaries were delayed. Yet there were still an immense amount of bugs that are still being fixed to this day. Last week they realized that some of the hidden, bonus rewards didn’t actually exist such as the Motherlode Mine paydirt boost and Catherby herb patch boost. OSRS is so understaffed that a third party client has been outsourced to do a lot of client features where you must pay to access many of those features. Want to know how ridiculously “unoldschool” this is? Back in the real life 2007, there was something called the Rule 7 Riots. Jagex completely banned all 3rd party clients. Yet here in OSRS tens of thousands of players are paying real money to access exclusive client features. We really should not have to pay this fee, no matter how small it is, to access features we ought to have by default if we had a larger dev team. I don’t have an issue with Osbuddy for paying for a service which they obviously spend a lot of time developing and up keeping, its simply the fact that they have to exist at all. B) Type of Content Due to having extremely limited amount of developers, we end up getting only a few types of content. This has led to some people calling OSRS “PvMscape”. They’ve added far more bosses and PvM content than anything else. They even “rejuvenate” or boosted drop tables of many monsters as a cheap and quick way to add more content to the game with little work. What this ends up doing is screwing up the balance of the economy and devaluing skilling content. Pretty much the only skilling content we’ve gotten are the yearly Player Designed Content; Motherlode Mine and rooftop agility. Skilling is such a huge piece of this game its really disappointing to see two pieces of content in two years. No quests to speak of. Quests are often underlooked for their ability to introduce new places, new gear and content into the game. That’s sadly not possible with the small development team we have. C) Quality of Content There are huge balancing issues with the game right now as well as poor quality in general. I have a theory that because of the limited developers, they accidentally end up going overboard with rewards because they need people to actually use what little new stuff we get. That’s no excuse though for how overpowered much of the content is. Wyverns for one. Sadly enough this has become a meme due to how extremely unbalanced it is. I’m going to breakdown every drop to show you exactly how OP they are because the Dev Team just won’t listen. Wyverns are relatively easy to kill, monkfish or lobsters can be enough to fill your inventory with loot when meleeing. While they have a range attack it is very short, so they are safespotable with crossbows. Because they drop 8 doses of prayer in one drop, I’ve actually been able to use eagle eye the entire time for hours on end. They exclusively drop alchables and notables, so you never have to bank when ranging. Will freeze you every couple minutes for a few combat turns in melee. They require 72 slayer to kill. Now that the summary is over here are the drops compared to similar NPC‘s such as mithril dragons and KBD, which are much stronger monsters that hit higher in all three combat styles and have much much more defence as well as unable to be safespotted:
10x battle staff, this single drop is worth more than any common drop from KBD or mith drags (this excludes dragon full helm or dragon pickaxes which are extremely rare)
35 magic logs, worth about the same as KBD’s 150 yew log drop. (btw wyverns drop 5 more magic logs than RUNITE dragons in rs3, obviously they are very different economies and games but that is still something to think about)
1 snapdragon seed, this is an issue because wyverns exclusively drop the 2 best seeds
3 ranarr seeds, 50% more in one drop than some GWD bosses
36 rune arrows, 4 times more than mithril dragons
5-44 runite bolts, up to twice as many as mithril dragons and KBD. 7-99 adamant bolts, up to 10 times more than iron dragons
45 law runes, 50% more law runes than from KBD
25 blood runes, same amount from KBD and mithril dragons
20 soul runes, double the amount that mithril dragons drop
80 chaos runes, 8k in GP basically
Three 3-bar rune items and granite legs, while mithril dragons have 1 3-bar item.
Rune full helm, while mithril dragons also drop RFH
Rune axe, earth battle staff and r’cbow(u) similar to the mace from mithril dragons
Dragon plate skirt/legs at the same rate as steel dragons
250 pure essence, the biggest ess dropper apart from corperal beast
Air and water runes, one of the few junk drops from wyverns
8 doses of prayer unnoted, this makes it so you could kill them faster and take less DMG
10x uncut ruby and 5x uncut diamond, more than any non-boss NPC that I can think of
200 iron ore, wyverns crashed iron ore considerably devaluing noob content
Draconic visage, the ever sought after bank loot
Even though KBD drops black dhides and mith drags drop 3 mithril bars, wyverns still are worth much more per drop and are far easier to kill. Wyverns introduce billions of GP into the game causing inflation at a massive scale, the 10x bstaff drop will end up as 93k for example. Zulrah is obviously the next huge unbalanced content. I’m not going to bother listing how ridiculously OP most of the drops are but I will explain how Zulrah is the complete opposite of all the other intelligently designed boss content on OSRS. Bosses typically take a long time to reach. DK’s have the extended maze of three attack style monsters to tank while also requiring a partner. The KQ also has a long winding path leading up to it as well as a desert to traverse beforehand. Godwars of course has 40 kill count which can take more than several minutes to obtain as well as trollheim to navigate. Zulrah, on the other hand, has a teleport within 5 steps of the boss What this means is that players are always killing it. Players will use very few supplies such as some monkfish and recoils and ammo due to banking every kill. You replenish your hp and prayer for free from clanwars when banking which can take less time than the respawn time for other bosses. There are no such things as a trips, if you screw up then you are instantly back to try again with no penalties. GWD is so much more intense because you have invested time in making it there and you will lose that time if you mess up. Zulrah is boring because screwing up has no meaning, its terrible design. The drops of Zulrah are the complete opposite of all other bosses in the game as well. Zulruh drops a massive amount of skilling items, vastly devaluing all non-combat skills. Other bosses such as GWD may drop a tiny fraction of skilling items, possibly some yew logs or a couple seeds. Zulrah drops skilling items across the board from dragon bones, grapes, raw sharks in huge amounts. The common drops are so good that the best in slot gear that Zulrah drops have been devalued into the ground, only a couple hundred thousand gold for the best helmet. At GWD its exciting knowing that you might or might not get a boss drop, while at Zulrah you’re just farming a monotony of common drops that end up being 2 million GP per hour at max stats and gear. The death mechanics of zulrah are the complete opposite of what they should be. It’s by far the most rewarding boss yet there are 0 penalties to dying. Excluding the current DDOS protection death mechanics, if you die at all the other bosses I listed you aren’t getting your stuff back unless your team-mates happen to loot your body. But if you die at Zulrah you lose absolutely nothing. Speaking of team-mates zulrah is the complete opposite in other bosses that focus on teamwork. At GWD, DK’s and KQ you will probably rely on team-mates to extend your trip much longer. Zulrah makes players increasingly withdrawn and makes OSRS less of an MMORPG, why bother taking the time and effort to interact and rely on other players when you can farm the best money maker alone? It's fine that its single player content, it was set out to be designed that way, its the fact that it so far outstrips every other boss in the game which makes it far less likely to use the other multi boss content. General drop table laziness: magic seeds used to be not dropped by any NPC. But the new buffed tables for Kalphite Queen drop TWO magic seeds, the kraken drops one, and zulrah drops one. This has lead to magic seeds being worth less than yew seeds at times. This applies to many new NPC’s and buffed tables, there’s just little thought put into balancing the tables compared to other NPC’s or considering what the supply of the item is before a drop table buff. 10x battlestaves are dropped from the Kraken, Zulrah, and wyverns despite all of the being very different NPC’s that take different amounts of time, supplies and effort to kill. Speaking of low quality updates, it seems to be the majority of the time and not the minority that we get unfinished content. Resizable still has no zoom mode, a 3rd party client had to add this. Bounty hunter was untested and crashed the price of dragon scimmies to alch value. Achievement diaries are still being fixed to this day. Zulrah, if you can believe it, had drop tables nerfed a week after release and added more phases to actually make it more difficult. Literally all 3 wilderness bosses had safespots. A Friend even did a video on 100 Venenatis safespot kills. There is still a melee safespot in the game right now for Vetion. Poor or nonexistent quality control severely crashed the price of the unique ring and dragon pickaxe drops for everybody afterward and people who were killing the boss legit. I could go on much longer for this section but I feel I’ve made my point already. D) Lack of Community Input in a “Democracy” Supposedly, our input has a ton of value because of the polling system we have for the game. The OSRS team is supposed to listen to our feedback on the content they put out because “we are in control of the game”. They waited over a year to put out the “Game Integrity Poll” asking our opinion on NMZ and splashing. They waited well over half a year to say that they are listening to our feedback on wyverns and zulrah. They have the gall to say that “they don’t actually believe that wyverns and zulrah are overpowered” in the news update here http://services.runescape.com/m=forum/a=5/forums.ws?380,381,178,65624994 That type of doubting a huge portion of the community is incompatible with the polling system we have. whatever your opinion on the above issues are, you have to admit that the OSRS team let us down big time by waiting such a long time for issues we brought up over and over. By waiting so long, they have severely skewed the public opinion since people become entitled to these pieces of overpowered content. People don’t want to “miss out” or have a disadvantage to what other people have already gotten, if the dev team were on the ball then this wouldn’t have happened. As far as my personal opinion on the AFK methods above, I’ll give you something to think about at least. You don’t have to agree with me but there are some factors to consider that are exclusive to OSRS: AFK guthans has existed since barrows came out. What never existed was a way to profitably AFK guthans. NMZ is in a completely safe area that will reward you with skilling resources, AFK guthaner’s drive down the price of those resources for those who choose to actively play the minigame. You’ll end up spending millions of gold repairing your guthans at bandits, my guess is far less people would participate in AFK guthans at NMZ if you didn’t profit or at least cover most of the cost. As for splashing, there are new factors to consider. One of the being the smoke staff, which decreased the cost of splashing by quite a bit. Another are rune packs, which also reduced the cost to barely anything. Yet another new factor to consider is that splashing has become huge, visit any bank that has low level NPC’s or clan wars to see that there are thousands of people participating in it. Splashing may have technically been in the game but I had never heard of 6 hour afk splashing before OSRS, so you could consider it an exploit that wasn’t known before. To me, this is incompatible with the mentality of OSRS. Not my mentality, if you look at the front page of OSRS the first sentence description includes “relive the challenging leveling system…”. Leaving your computer for 6 hours is literally the opposite of what was advertised. E) Polling Balance Changes Right near the beginning of OSRS, one of the first pieces of custom content was released: Nightmarezone. The minigame gave you an infinite amount of runes no matter what bosses you had enabled. This led to people making barrage boosters, where you could cast multi-spells for completely free and get hundreds of thousands of magic xp per hour. Except it wasn’t even free, it was profitable because you could trade in the points for resources. The point of this being that a poll to nerf this failed. A profitable exploit where you gained the fastest possible magic and hit points xp in the game failed in the polling system. Right near the beginning of OSRS it was clearly shown that the community cannot be trusted in nerfing overpowered content. Well maybe you’re wondering why this exploit still isn’t in the game despite failing the poll. The dev team fixed it despite failing the polling system because clearly it was unhealthy for the game. F) Rampant Cheating Mod Weath is currently our only bot buster. One man can only do so much, I have the utmost respect for him and everybody else on the OSRS team but this one person simply isn’t enough. What would happen in the past is that the anti-botting team would develop anti-cheating measures which would lead to a purge of many bots. When there was a resurgence of bots new measures would be developed. But from what I can see on OSRS there’s not many advances in the bot detection software, and Mod Weath ends up playing Whack-a-bot with the endless supply of them. I’m sick of seeing bots in every aspect of the game, thousands of them are at chaos druids, flesh crawlers, green and blue dragons, rune crafting, hunter or even staking etc etc. We need more people working on the bot detection software. G) Jagex let the DDOSers Win I’m not exaggerating when I say that the quality of servers are the worst they have ever been. Jagex has actually compromised and let the DDOSers win by drastically changing the death mechanics of the game for a year now. To me, that feels like they have completely given up or simply don’t want to put resources toward DDOS protection and they think that we’re just going to take this lying down. The hour long gravestones we get while keeping all untradables make all dangerous PvM content completely safe. More people are bossing and using best in slot gear, killing bosses quicker because there is no chance at all to lose anything. There is no such thing as item sinks, no items are ever lost to dying anymore. This feels like the exact opposite of what OSRS means to me, gravestones make the game completely risk-free and therefore boring. You can’t even reliably log-out anymore, this is infuriating in the wilderness when you click logout and you stay in the game while DC’ing. I'm aware that there are super-entities that can take down huge networks such as PSN, Xbox live etc. But when there were clans who stood outside GWD and took down worlds just to loot some gear, that's inexcusably bad server protection. They have said that they are working on DDOS protection for well over a year now and the user experience has not changed at all. Jagex lost my trust, you can only string us along for so long before we realize that nothing is being done. H) The Idea of Developing Zeah Zeah sounds like an amazing piece of content. In fact, the idea is to be one of the biggest updates in Runescape’s history. Huge amounts of new land, never-before-seen features such as procedurally generated raids. But if you look at the track record of OSRS, this idea is laughably impossible to develop. We are getting the barest minimum of content, relatively small updates (compared to Zeah) such as achievement diaries took months and was delayed. The idea that we are getting extremely sparse and small updates now, but sometime in the future we’re going to get the biggest update in RS history is incredibly stupid. It seems to me as if they are stringing us along with a promise they don’t intend to keep. Wanna know what I think the dev time could instead be used for? How about polling most of the content from 2008 and see what the community reaction is. Most of the content won’t fit the design philosophy of Oldschool but there’s certainly some that will fit. People ask about content from that year all the time. This would be far safer and much easier to implement than the huge gamble of Zeah because you wouldn’t have to release it all at once, just poll week by week and selectively include what would fit in our game. ------------------------------Conclusion------------------------------ When I had first heard that OSRS would be released I was unbelievably excited that Runescape was getting a second chance. This slowly turned to disappointment. I feel that the same management that ruined RS3 is running OSRS into the ground with neglect. I can’t stand to see our only second chance at Runescape wasted which is why I made this post. We so plainly need more resources distributed towards OSRS. I respect all of the hard-working members of the OSRS dev team, but these few can only do so much. Jagex might defend their actions by pointing to the referendum that took place before OSRS started. They might say that “well look at the results, you’re lucky we’re giving you this much”. Look at the root word, “refer”. If they are actually basing their management decisions on a viral marketing campaign 2 years ago, they need to get their head out of the sand. Jagex will accuse us of being cynical, as if our attitude is the problem. How do you even defend this month’s Behind the Scenes? All we’re getting are a change to an interface and a PvP tournament? Runescape isn’t an esport or MOBA, this is just yet another example of the people running our game just hopping on whatever is trending or big at the moment, with no understanding of what made RS popular in the first place. Look at EOC and see how that turned out. Runescape is based on simple game mechanics which means that it depends on regular, intelligently designed content to keep it afloat. Jagex will accuse us of being greedy, of asking more than our share. They have hiked the price of our membership to $10 per month and included micro-transactions (bonds) yet we still get so little in return for the massive amount of OSRS players. I’m not asking for OSRS to get the same amount of developers as RS3, because OSRS is a much simpler game. We need as many developers as it takes to get content out on time, actually finished, more than just a PvM reskin, and at an acceptable quality. Jagex will accuse us of being a loud minority. A huge part of the community are jaded, critical posts of the game repeatedly make it to the top and end up with no response. Clearly, if we want change we’re going to have to be much more aggressive. While there have been some steps in the right direction with the new staff hires, this is not nearly enough. It’s time to let them know that we will no longer tolerate their false promises, mismanagement and neglect. Hi to whoever is reading this/taking the time to read this. I’ve played runescape since 2005 and played all the way through 2011 before the decline of the game I loved. When I heard it was coming back in 2013 I thought my friends were just playing with me. When OSRS came out I haven’t stopped playing since. This game is honestly like crack. I have tried to quit multiple times but still can’t seem to stop playing. But that’s not what this post is about. This post is about how I feel about our community of players. Ever since the beginning there have been scammers, lures, and phishing links constantly in hotspots of the game. With OSRS Mobile and the influx of players, these bots and scams have significantly increased in the past couple of months. This has caused more than one problem not only for Jagex, but for players themselves. Players not only have lost their accounts, but their banks and sometimes their want to play anymore after being tricked into clicking links, gambling with fake bots, or accidentally giving away their information. I understand that for some of the veteran players it’s common sense to not click the links or believe people doubling money, but we still have to remember the players that haven’t played for a few years. This problem has put Jagex in a tough situation of how to handle all of this, because not only is it in game, but being sent to emails of players and fake streams on Twitch. With that being said, players have reached out to JMod’s themselves on Twitter and Reddit to help them recover accounts and figure out why/how this has happened. Most of these posts are people who have bought accounts, shared their information, or have clicked in these phishing links. This has add fuel to fire of players wanting better customer support from Jagex to solve this problem and offer a better service. All of these concerns and wants are very valid, but Jagex has not come forward with any solutions in the Q&A streams or social media. There have been multiple solutions voiced by players and I would like to take one and bring it more to light and that is offering PMod status to more players. From what I have read and looked into, Jagex has a filter for what accounts have Bank PIN, Authenticator, ban meter, etc and put all those accounts into a hat. Front here they pick certain accounts based on time zones, locations and then do background checks to make sure they aren’t sex offenders and so on. From there they offer the PMod status and if accept, the account is in a 2 month probation period before they can use their Moderator tools such as muting. This process is very well thought out and takes little to no effort for Jagex to provide players with this opportunity. That being said, why hasn’t Jagex implemented more players? To solve most problems you must figure out the source rather than fix that resolution, and that’s what Jagex has been doing. Instead of getting rid of most of these bots who post phishing links in game chat or fake gamble bots, they have waited till someone posts on Reddit to resolve the issue. If we have more PMod’s in the game we can reduce the amount of bots in both F2P and P2P that are posting this. Now it will not solve the entire problem but it is a start to fixing it. As well, you do not pay these players a dime for doing this, the inly cost is having an employee filtering through which accounts are viable and the $5-6 cost of doing a background check in the person themselves. This would not only help with reducing players getting robbed, but show a sense of progress in solving this very big problem that has grown since the very beginning of the game. That being said I would love it if I could have a chance of becoming a PMod for this game. I believe that the process Jagex has implemented is quite good, but what if players could actually apply to become a PMod. This would be very viable in that the filtering process could become a lot easier rather than picking it out of a hat, and players who truly want to help could actually have a chance. I, myself, would be more than happy to get an opportunity as such and would even be willing to cover the costs of the background checks/whatever needs to be done to make the in game experience better. This game has meant a lot to me over the years and I would love to be part of the solution rather than the problem. Yours truly,
Before we start I want to say this is 100% serious and I hope you take it seriously before commenting. I gambled back when dicing/horse game/flowers was a thing and lost bank over and over. Then when osrs came out I didn't even visit the duel arena till I got to level low 100s. At this point I had a 30m bank and someone in my clan was staking so I decided to join them. I ended up at around 100m and quit staking for 3 months. I got to a point where I wanted to own an ags, full bandos, have 99 pray, construction and herb banked. I went to the duel arena hoping I could make bank and I only got to 200m then was cleaned the next stake. This was in july and ever since then all I've done is stake. I've spent over $100 on gp and still end up cleaned, never to make it past that 200m mark again. Recently I did get close as I turned 6m to around 170m. The next day I was back at it and got cleaned. Then I sold my name for 100m rs3 and swapped it over. Go to the duel arena with 18m and cleaned again. It's hard to get around the mentality that I can spend 5 minutes at the duel arena and make absolute bank instead of grinding zulrah for 10 hours for 15m. I've gotten to the point to where I don't even want to PvM anymore or even pk. I just really want to end this addiction and play the game without having to stake. As for a 16 year old I think this is a terrible habit to start. What do I do reddit? Do I seek gambling help or do I just bot my account and get it banned and never come back to Runescape. TLDR;Staking addiction and don't know what to do.
My friends, it has often been said that I like MTX.
My friends, I like MTX... No, friends, I love MTX! I love Treasure Hunter. I love Runecoins. I love Hearts of Ice. I love spin tokens, bank boosters, I love Soloman's Store, and keys. Keys across visa cards, in master cards, in paypal, in bank accounts, in america express cards, through promotions, on the site, in quests, I love every act of MTX that can occur upon this game. I love blasting the community to smithereens with update after update of promotions that thunder across the lines of reddit. My heart leaps with joy whenever a quest is finally completed, and cut to pieces by well treasure hunter keys. And there is nothing like a Jagex moderator using constant excuses to deny the problem. And the feeling that comes when a player runs screaming from computer screen only to be mowed down by promotional advertisements, is such an exquisite feeling. Like when ranks of members brandish their red:wave2: rushing into the falador square. It moves me deep within my heart to watch a fresh player spinning over and over into the bloated chest of a long-dead prize. The sight of naysayers being strung up from a perm ban is an irresistible pleasure. And there is nothing more arousing, than the sounds made by veterans of runescape dropping like flies, screaming in agony as they are mowed down by gambling addictions! When a band of pitiful purist scapers makes their final stand with nothing left on their maxed credit card, only to have their membership smashed to atoms block by block by 4.8 ton notifications, I'm in ecstasy. I love it when my mods are ravaged by an angry player riot. It's so sad to see rules against real world trade that were supposed to be defended at all costs, being laid to waste, their founders and developers being shamed, and fired. I love to be squashed under the heel of the Chinese Overlords. The humiliation, as my employees crawl around like vermin, ducking at the promotions flying overhead. Gentlemen... All I ask for is MTX, MTX so grand as to make Korean MMOs tremble. Gentlemen, I ask you as fellow brothers in rune, what is it that you really want? Do you wish for further MTX as I do? Do you wish for merciless, shameless MTX? MTX, whose fury is built with wings, and skin, and sex appeal? Do you ask for MTX to sweep in like a tempest, leaving not even bots to scavenge, from this game!? Keys! Keys! Keys, keys, keys! ...Very well. Then keys is what you shall have. We are a clenched fist, ready to strike down all who oppose us, with our money. But... After enduring over half a decade wallowing in the darkness, for us, simple "ordinary" MTX will no longer be sufficient. We need MASSIVE MTX! MTX beyond any other that man's history has ever known! We are but a single publisher... The remnants of a defeated company numbering less than a thousand strong. However, I believe that each of you investors is equal to a thousand of their sickly soft purists! We represent a force that could easily defeat an army of a million and one men! It is time for them to awake the ones who sent us down our old path, and who now lie with his own company. Let's drag him out of his chair by the hair, and remind him of what we are! We will remind him of what it feels like to live in fear. We will remind them of the sound our bank boosters make against their throats. We will remind them, that there are more things between RS3 and OSRS than are dreamt of in their philosophy. Our company of one thousand leeches is going to burn this game down to ash. Yes, my friends! Soon, Jagex's charred remains will illuminate the night sky! I have brought you all back just as I promised I would. Back to our favourite asset. Back to our beloved MTX! ...At last, the legendary pet has crossed the store and is heading to the inventory. Attention, all employees of Jagex! This is a message from your overlord. …Friends... let’s bring them hell.

It is said though that most of these bots are rigged to roll low numbers more often, only actually giving you a 25% chance of winning. Just steer away from these bots -- and to be honest, gambling in general -- and report them when you see them. I honestly wouldn't dabble in the Discord gambling side of things, they're just not that reliable and easily can be tweaked in host/house odds too much not to mention the unreliability that comes with using them and having servers go down, or the gambling bot fucking up and losing your bets etc. Rather than use conventional means of storing OSRS Gold. Use BigBoiBets, they’re a leading gambling site. Allowing for direct deposits of RS3 & OSRS Gold, in return you receive tokens. Why BigBoiBets OSRS? I’ve personally used them several times, previously I’ve sold some BTC for OSRS Gold, never wanted to risk losing this hard earned money. Most undetectable osrs bot? Honestly maybe i'm a bit of a fanboy but I really like osbot. They're working on redoing the entire client so instead of it being injection based, it mirrors the webclient, so no traces of the bot should be able to get detected. Next Generation Oldschool 2007 Runescape OSRS Bot. Including specific optimizations for gold farmers, including extremely precise interaction, a free bot management panel, and super low cpu mode.
